MyRepublic has executed a subscriber transfer agreement with Superloop Ltd. The agreement relates to the acquisition of MyRepublic’s Australian National Broadband Network (NBN) subscribers only and does not include any assets or liabilities of the MyRepublic legal entity. The agreement marks the exit of the Singapore-based telco (launched in 2016) from the Australian broadband market effective December 23, 2022, with completion expected shortly thereafter.

Dialog has successfully tested mmWave 5G for the first time in South Asia. Conducted through its fully owned subsidiary, Dialog Broadband Networks, the trials achieved 5G download speeds greater than 4 Gbps on non-standalone (NSA) mode using mmWave, attaining significantly higher throughputs than current standards.

International Data Corporation (IDC) estimates worldwide shipments of used smartphones, including officially refurbished and used smartphones, will reach 282.6 million units in 2022. The unit growth represents an 11.5% increase over the 253.4 million units shipped in 2021. This growth is expected to continue, as IDC forecasts used smartphone shipments will reach 413.3 million units in 2026, with a compound annual growth rate of 10.3% from 2021 to 2026.

GlobalData predicts that the total mobile service revenue in Thailand is poised to increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.9% from $8.5bn in 2022 to $10.8bn in 2027, mainly supported by an increase in 5G subscriptions and rising data average revenue per user (ARPU).
