The GSMA is celebrating one year since its formation of the APAC 5G Industry Community, which now includes over 700 member organizations and 2,000 individuals from 66 countries, making it the fastest-growing GSMA community in the Asia-Pacific region. Building on this success, there are plans for further growth into vertical markets in 2023 with an “alliance of alliances” initiative.

The public cloud services market in Asia Pacific, excluding Japan, will reach US$165.2 billion in 2026, according to IDC. The PCS market is to grow at a higher year-over-year (YoY) rate in 2022 at 31.4% in comparison to 30.0% in 2021, as cloud migration continues to accelerate. However, IDC expects the YoY growth rates to slow down beginning in 2023 with a YoY growth of 28.3%, to 22.4% in 2026.

BYOND MOBILE, launched by VNU Asia Pacific, was held from September 28–29 at Samyan Mitrtown Hall, Bangkok, to set a platform for the networked economy of the future and its 5G products and solutions. The two-day conference and exhibition brought together business leaders from the health, manufacturing, smart city and future mobility verticals with strategy experts from the Internet, mobile communications and IT sectors.

The award winning FutureNet event series returns to Singapore with an in-person event, taking place at the 5* Westin Hotel on October 18-19. The event will bring together the APAC telecom industry including senior level representatives from Singtel, Telstra, NTT DoCoMo, Airtel, Axiata, Rakuten Mobile, Telkom Indonesia and more.
