ZTE hosted its 5G Summit and User Congress 2021, by means of live streaming today. In support of ZTE and its technological innovations, many industry partners such as the GSMA, Omdia, CCS Insight, China Mobile, Hutchison Drei Austria and China Telecom attended this year’s 5G Summit and User Congress.

Huawei and the ASEAN Foundation signed an MoU to jointly bridge a digital talent gap through the ASEAN Seeds for the Future program. Held on 3 November 2021, the Asia Pacific Innovation Day – Digital Talent Summit 2021 was an online summit where policy-makers, researchers and industry experts convened to discuss best approaches to build a digital talent ecosystem in the region.

According to the China Academy of Information and Communications (CAICT), China’s shipment of smartphones grew 30.6% year-on-year to 32.7 million handsets in October. This is a significant increase from a year ago, in October 2020, when shipments reached 25 million.

Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), in collaboration with commercial partners DBS Bank, Emirates NBD and Standard Chartered, have successfully concluded the world’s first cross-border digital trade financing pilot of its kind.

GSMA announced the formation of Asia Pacific (APAC) 5G Industry Community, a new ecosystem established for those seeking opportunities to deliver Industry 4.0 and digital transformation from 5G networks, edge-cloud services, enterprise IoT and AI. The Community has been designed for stakeholders across the value chain including government and agencies, industry associations, mobile network providers, enterprises and industry players, solution providers, analysts, and consultants.

Viasat has entered into a definitive agreement under which Viasat will acquire Inmarsat in a transaction valued at $7.3 billion, comprised of $850.0 million in cash, approximately 46.36 million shares of Viasat common stock valued at $3.1 billion based on the closing price on Friday November 5, 2021, and the assumption of $3.4 billion of net debt.
