Jio Platforms Limited has partnered with NVIDIA to build a state-of-the-art cloud-based AI infrastructure to accelerate AI deployment in India.

This groundbreaking AI cloud infrastructure is expected to give researchers, developers and other stakeholders access to a high-speed and secure network that can run a huge amount of workload efficiently. It would also help accelerate the country’s development of AI projects such as chatbots, drug discovery and climate research.

Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director, Reliance Industries Limited, commented on the partnership, saying: “As India advances from a country of data proliferation to creating technology infrastructure for widespread and accelerated growth, computing and technology super centers like the one we envisage with NVIDIA will provide the catalytic growth just like Jio did to our nation’s digital march. I am delighted with the partnership with NVIDIA and looking forward to a purposeful journey together.”

NVIDIA will provide Jio with end-to-end AI supercomputer technologies, operating systems and frameworks that will be used to build advanced AI models and improve customer engagement and experience.

Akash Ambani, chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, highlighted the importance of this collaboration in India’s digital transformation: "This state-of-the-art platform will be a catalyst in accelerating AI-driven innovations across sectors, from healthcare and education to enterprise solutions. Our vision is to make AI accessible to researchers, start-ups and enterprises across the nation, thereby accelerating India's journey towards becoming an AI powerhouse."

Furthermore, Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, expressed enthusiasm for this partnership, saying, “India has scale, data and talent. With the most advanced AI computing infrastructure, Reliance can build its own large language models that power generative AI applications made in India for the people of India.”

Through this partnership, Jio Platforms aims to develop groundbreaking AI capabilities in India to support the country’s growth and address social challenges.
