ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, has signed a five-year 5G cooperation agreement with Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas of Colombia (UDFJC University) to establish a 5G Joint Innovation Research Center in Colombia.

Australia’s fourth largest mobile carrier Pivotel has acquired two US-based mobile satellite solution businesses, MVS USA Inc. and Explorer Satellite Communications Inc., through its US based subsidiary Pivotel America Inc., significantly increasing its scale in North America and opening new markets in Latin America and Europe.

Xiaomi has recently declared its intention to renew its aim towards independent chipmaking with the support of VeriSilicon Holdings Co Ltd. The Chinese electronics corporation, headquartered in Beijing, has bought a 6% stake in VeriSilicon, making it the Shanghai-based chip designer’s second largest investor and thus ensuring its role in guiding the chipmaker’s growth and innovation efforts.
