Thai telecoms juggernaut AIS has recently partnered with industry leaders across multiple sectors to launch its “Mission Green 2020” environment protection initiative by installing e-waste bins in its stores and shopping malls all over the country. According to AIS, the aim of this campaign is to educate society on the detrimental effects on the planet if e-waste disposal is done ineffectively and carelessly.

The winners of the NetEvents Innovation Awards 2019 – Cloud/Datacenter, IoT & CyberSecurity were announced at the NetEvents Global IT Summit & Awards Dinner at the Hayes Mansion, San Jose, California, USA. These prestigious awards celebrate the year’s most significantly innovative start-ups and established companies in the fast-growing Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud/Datacenter and Cybersecurity arenas. All money raised from the award entry fees is being shared between three charities: Prostate Cancer Research, STEM and UNICEF. This year’s charitable contributions brought the total raised to date to over $137,000.

The Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) announced that Tiago Rodrigues has taken the helm as CEO, following a unanimous vote at the wireless industry group. Rodrigues, who has been with the WBA since 2004, replaces CEO Shrikant Shenwai, a WBA founder and long-term advocate who will continue working closely with WBA and the wireless industry.
