Singtel has launched a managed advanced threat prevention (ATP) service based on technology from IT security company Palo Alto Networks. It uses Palo Alto Networks' security platform comprising next-generation firewall, threat intelligence cloud and advanced endpoint protection.

According to Palo Alto Networks, this platform protects organizations by allowing safe applications to pass through networks, cloud and endpoint devices but blocks both known as well as unknown threats and suspicious applications.

'The Singtel service aims to keep cyber threats at bay by monitoring, isolating and preventing any suspicious applications from breaching an organization's networks or endpoint devices,' it said. 'In addition, the service's advance threat intelligence capability provides organizations with insights on cyber threats, allowing them to take necessary security measures.'

Palo Alto Networks said this new offering expanded its activities with Singtel's managed security services business unit, Trustwave, to bring next-generation managed security services to global multi-national businesses and government agencies.

In Singapore, the Managed ATP service is delivered through Singtel's Singapore Advanced Security Operations Centre (ASOC), which monitors advanced cyberthreats globally and helps protect organizations against sophisticated malicious cyber attacks. The service is supported by 2,000 security professionals worldwide, including its SpiderLabs cyber response team.
