CelcomDigi Berhad and DHL Supply Chain Malaysia have launched Malaysia's first 5G-powered AI autonomous inventory management system. DHL's Integrated Logistics Center in Shah Alam is now equipped with the latest AI and robotic technologies for inventory management and is supported by CelcomDigi's 4G LTE network and 5G connectivity.

CelcomDigi's new Innovation Center collaborates with DHL to deploy 5G and AI to improve multi-story warehouse management. DHL can now manage inventory and operations using autonomous drones, automated stock-taking systems and computer vision technology without human error. The solution will boost stock counting efficiency by 20 times and accuracy by 100%, which optimizes warehouse space and cuts power use.

CelcomDigi CEO Datuk Idham Nawawi said, “The collaboration between our Innovation Center and DHL demonstrates the real value and benefits of 5G technology, robotics and AI as part of our continuous effort to drive 5G adoption and enablement effectively with Malaysia’s enterprises and digital ecosystem at large. As two different industries embrace innovation and digital transformation through productivity and cutting-edge digital solutions, we are reimagining warehouse logistics with an improved efficiency of daily operations.”

The partnership is crucial to unlocking industry synergies and improving logistic operations in an AI-driven digital economy. CelcomDigi and DHL will keep testing 5G-powered AI autonomous drones and robotic inventory management technologies at all DHL warehouses.

“This collaboration marks the dawn of a new era in the world of logistics and telecommunications. Our 5G-powered AI Autonomous Inventory System is not just an achievement but a testament to what is possible when industry leaders join forces to push the boundaries of innovation,” noted Mario Lorenz, country managing director, DHL Supply Chain Malaysia.
