After enduring a prolonged slump, the smartphone sector is now experiencing a resurgence, with Samsung reclaiming its position as the leading smartphone seller. In the first quarter of this year, worldwide smartphone shipments grew by nearly 8%, reaching a total of 289.4 million units.

The global traditional PC market has recovered from a two-year downturn in the first quarter of 2024 (Q1‘24) with 59.8 million shipments, up 1.5% year-over- year. This resurgence was aided by favorable year-over-year comparisons, with the market falling 28.7% in the first quarter of 2023.

To resolve a lawsuit claiming it secretly tracked the internet activity of users who thought they were browsing privately, Google has agreed to delete billions of data records. The terms of the settlement, filed in Oakland, California federal court, await approval from U.S. District Judge, Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers.
