SpaceDC, a Singapore-based visionary data center provider, is working with JLL, a global real estate services firm, to build a secure, resilient, network rich, data center called MNL1, which will be situated in Cainta, part of Greater Manila. The green data center will be fully powered with renewable energy - wind, geothermal - and is slated to open in 2022.

Nokia, China Mobile (CMCC) and MediaTek announced that they have successfully verified the world's first three components (3CC) carrier aggregation (CA) technology in Shanghai, China. The test reached a new record of approximately 3Gbps in peak user downlink throughput. The move will enable communication service providers to deliver higher throughputs and better coverage to more customers such as superior mobile broadband services and HD video.

South Korea’s Ministry of Science & ICT said that it will be launching an auction to award mobile carriers additional 5G spectrum next month. The winning carrier is required to install more than 150,000 5G base stations by 2025, as part of the government’s plan to deploy 5G nationwide.

The Rosenberger Group announced the spinoff of its antenna and coverage solution product portfolio with a new brand entity, PROSE. The strategic focus of PROSE will be towards the development of base station antennas, microwave antennas, indoor and outdoor coverage solutions, Open RAN sub-systems, and related services.

ZTE together with China Mobile Research Institute, the Guangdong branch of China Mobile, and MediaTek, has completed all the test items of URLLC key technologies in Guangzhou, China. This is the first URLLC (ultra-reliable low-latency communication) verification on the live network in the industry.

Huawei's ICT Middle East Competition concluded recently with an award ceremony for the winning Pakistani teams at the Presidential Palace in Islamabad. The President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, himself attended the ceremony hosted by Huawei and the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT). Other attendees included federal secretary of IT & telecommunication Sohail Rajput, Huawei Middle East VP Shunli Wang, Huawei Pakistan CEO Mark Meng, and other officials from MoITT and Huawei Pakistan.
