KT, Nokia conduct world's first eMTC (LTE-M) field trial on LTE network
KT and Nokia have conducted what they claim to be the industry's first eMTC (aka LTE-M) field trial, on KT's LTE network using Nokia's Flexi Multiradio 10 base station. In the trial, eMTC used only 1.4MHz of the full 20MHz LTE spectrum, leaving the remaining spectrum free for normal LTE traffic, according to Nokia.
SK Telecom leads quantum cryptography trials
A consortium led by SK Telecom has been chosen by the Institute for Information & communications Technology Promotion under the Korean Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning to undertake a government-funded project on a quantum cryptography communication network and has begun operating national test networks in five areas in Korea.
