SK Telecom has signed a MoU with Indonesia's largest telco, Telekom Indonesia, to cooperate in IoT, media and smart products and '˜Lifeware', SK Telecom's consumer-centric smart devices that add value and convenience to people's lives. Under the MoU the two companies will work together to develop new business opportunities in smart city and IoT services.

Ericsson and China Unicom to cooperate on 5G cloud and IoT
Ericsson and China Unicom have signed a MoU to collaborate on next-generation networks. The two companies say they aim to accelerate the development of next-generation network standardization and the maturity of network infrastructure, to establish cross-industry ecosystems and to foster innovation for new business, 'to help drive innovation and early application of 5G mobile network technology.'
Inmarsat to provide commercial aircraft comms in China
Global mobile satellite operator, Inmarsat, has signed an agreement with Beijing Marine Communication & Navigation Company (MCN) form a joint venture to provide aircraft cabin and cockpit connectivity services to China's commercial aviation market. Inmarsat services to be provided will include Global Xpress Aviation and SwiftBroadband-Safety (SB-S). The final agreement is expected to be signed later this year.

Visa opens Singapore innovation center
Credit card provider Visa has opened its Singapore innovation center, the first in a network of new innovation centers that it plans to open around the world. The new 7,000 square foot facility has been established 'as a destination for clients, partners and developers across the region to work alongside Visa experts and jointly create the next generation of commerce applications,' Visa said.
