A Specialized Fiber Network

The goal of Low Latency Data Centre Connect is to provide a specialized fiber network with minimal delays and cutting-edge optical technology to support critical applications with sensitive workloads, addressing customers' latency-sensitive business requirements, outlined Tan Kit Yong, Head of Enterprise Business Group at StarHub.

Through Cloud Infinity—StarHub's hybrid, multi-cloud platform—this collaboration will establish the Low Latency Data Centre Connect network, offering ultra low-latency connections to Global Switch's Woodlands and Tai Seng data centers in Singapore. Tai Seng is known as one of the most interconnected data centers in Singapore and a key connectivity hub in the Asia Pacific region, with a growing ecosystem.

The advanced data center now features a diverse fiber network for maximum reliability, along with software-defined network capabilities, to quickly scale and meet increasing bandwidth demands for OTT and cloud services. Additionally, the network is quantum encryption-ready to provide secure and robust protection against cyber threats.

Enhancing Data-Intensive Operations, Driving Innovation

With Low Latency Data Centre Connect, Global Switch customers in Singapore will have secure on-demand access to a global network of data center ecosystems and submarine cable points of presence (PoP) for seamless connectivity, enhancing data-intensive operations.

“Global Switch is pleased to support StarHub's launch of Low Latency Data Centre Connect at our Woodlands and Tai Seng data centers in Singapore. Our data centers host the network points of presence for major international telecommunications companies,” said Terence Te, Managing Director of Global Switch Singapore.

Furthermore, many major submarine cable systems connect directly to Global Switch Singapore's Tai Seng data center, where most ISPs, content delivery networks (CDNs), and hyperscalers are located. The Low Latency Data Centre Connect at StarHub’s sites will enable other data centers and cable landing stations in Singapore to connect to Global Switch Singapore for content access and interconnections, emphasized Teo.

This partnership demonstrates StarHub's commitment to customer satisfaction and innovation, ensuring the best possible experience for its customers. In addition to the advanced fiber network of Low Latency Data Centre Connect, StarHub is continuously exploring new cloud-based service opportunities and expanding its offerings through its Cloud Infinity Program.
