South Korean satellite pay TV provider KT SkyLife has chosen Ericsson to expand its Ultra High Definition (UHDTV) service. It will deploy Ericsson's HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) encoders to bring consumers better picture quality. The deal marks KT SkyLife's fifth UHD channel launch to date.

SES provides satellite capacity for Sky Cable DTH in the Philippines
Geostationary satellite operator, SES, has signed a multi-year, multi-transponder agreement with Sky Cable, the largest cable television provider in the Philippines, under which Sky Cable will broadcasting direct-to-home (DTH) satellite TV channels via SES satellites at 108.2 degrees East, the SES-9 and NSS-11 satellites.

VNPT-Vinaphone has signed a letter of intent with GlobeOne to offer GlobeOne mobile banking services in Vietnam. Warid Telecom picks Syniverse for global LTE roaming
Pakistani telco Warid Telecom is deploying Syniverse's IPX diameter signaling services to enable its subscribers to access LTE services around the globe, and to provide LTE service to visiting inbound roamers throughout Pakistan. According to the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority, Pakistan had more than 26.1 million 3G and LTE subscribers at the end of February, up from just 24.7 million in January.
SK Holdings C&C teams with IBM for cloud services
IBM and Korean IT services company SK Holdings C&C have made an agreement to develop cloud solutions and services for enterprises across a variety of industries. Jointly, the companies intend to drive over $200 million in revenue as a result of this collaboration over the next five years.

Mobifone brings Wi-Fi calling to Vietnam
Vietnam telco, MobiFone Corporation, has become the first telecommunications services provider in Vietnam to launch a Wi-Fi calling service. To support the service, named WiTalk, MobiFone is using Taqua's Virtual Mobile Core (VMC), and mobile client to enable Wi-Fi Calling on Android smartphones that do not have native dialer support for Wi-Fi calling.
